Wise Women's standard childbirth course is a 12-15 hour childbirth class series
arranged over 6 weeks at 2 - 2 1/2 hours per session or over 3 weeks with 4-5
hour sessions. The variation in length of classes is due to the differences in class
size I may experience. Classes are generally held on Sunday evenings, but other
arrangements can be made. Location of the classes is determined by the class.
Smaller classes are usually held in my home or rotating among the homes of
students. Larger classes may be held downtown. These standard classes cost
$150 for the series. This includes the mother-to-be and her support person(s).
Private Classes
I also offer private classes for a fee of $25 per hour of instruction, with a two
hour minimum. These private sessions are perfect for experienced birthing teams
and for sibling preparation.
Sibling Preparation
Many families wish to include big brother or sister in the birth experience in
some way. I offer Sibling Preparation Classes tailored to your child's needs and
developmental level. I have a video in which a beautiful, peaceful birth is
observed by two older siblings. I also have a pelvic model and charts to
demonstrate the birth process for older children and a cloth doll that gives birth
for younger ones. I can also make Certificates of Completion for siblings to verify
that they have participated in a class if that is required by your hospital or birth
center.
A number of slots are available in each class series on a sliding fee scale and
payment plans are accepted. Please don't let cost stand in your way of the birth

NEW! Beginning January 2006, I will be teaching a water fitness class for
expectant couples at the Ransburg YMCA on the east side of Indianapolis. The
class series are seven weeks in length and are held on Fridays from 6:00-6:45 pm.
Registration and payment are made with the Ransburg YMCA at (317)357-8441.
The cost is $35 per team, per session, for Y members or $57 for non-members.
