| Wise Women Childbirth Education features an evidence-based curriculum approved by Lamaze ® International and designed to support women making a variety of birth choices. My clients choose homebirth, or birth in birth centers or hospitals. The classes are based on the knowledge that pregnancy and birth are normal processes and that we possess the innate abilities to birth and nurture our children, whether we choose natural unmedicated birth or birth with epidural or other medical comfort measures. The classes teach comfort and support measures to increase the confidence of women and their birth partners. |

| Giving birth is the most profoundly challenging and rewarding experience most women will ever have. Research has shown that women consistently and vividly remember their birth experiences for at least 15 years, and probably for the rest of their lives. (Simkin, 1991) Childbirth classes prepare you and your chosen support people for a safe and satisfying birth experience and great start in your journey as a new parent. Choosing an independant childbirth educator, rather than a hospital-based class, can improve the amount and quality of the instruction you receive. |
